[Poem] Ivy Engulfed Trees

Hills and valleys swallowed and swaddled
Engulfed and covered by leaves
Still waxy and green
Trees wrapped and covered
By tendril and shoot
Greening the landscapes of autumn
Taking the space for itself
Alien to this place
Breaking up the yellow and gold
Cut across by roads
Invading even there
Unwanted now
Once introduced to articulate riches
Now ripped up as good works
Of school children
